Christoph Clermont

was the former director of engineering for EFI DirectSmile software operations in Berlin. He studied computer science and urban planning at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany.

In 1997 he co-founded the “New Sign” advertising agency and in 2000 he invented image personalization technology together with his friend Christoph Schacht. This technology was the basis for a new company: DirectSmile.

Over the next decade DirectSmile invented several new marketing-related technologies for commercial printing companies, including scalable server solutions for image personalization, variable-data printing and cross media marketing. DirectSmile was acquired by EFI in 2014.

Bastian Kröger

finished his computer science degree at Siemens Berlin in 2008. After joining DirectSmile as a software engineer, he quickly evolved into product and team leadership.

His passion and dedication to tackle complex problems leads him to have hobbies that others have as a profession. He has gotten an expert in Neural Networks and statistical analysis, scalable Backends, APIs and can express himself in multiple programming languages on multiple platforms.

After the merger with EFI he became Lead Software Engineer and was responsible for the new Market Direct Crossmedia platform together with Christoph Clermont. His expertise for complex server- and cloud-based backends is a crucial addition to our team.

Together with his friend Christoph Clermont he founded several companies in the IT space. Out of these DirectSmile was the company staying under active management of Christoph Schacht and Christoph Clermont. The company has won several technology prices and managed to get support by international Partners like HP, Canon and Konica Minolta.

After managing the due diligence and merge with EFI in 2014 Christoph Schacht stayed with EFI as director of operations for EFI DirectSmile.
